Project Overview

Rightcare is a community in the church that offers aid to elderly members in the challenges of aging. They holistically help old people taking into account their health status, emotions, and beliefs. Rightcare has various persons such as leaders, helpers, scientists, doctors, emergency workers, and experts among other professionals who come together for total support of the seniors.

RIGHTCARE not only helps seniors in the local church but also reaches out to the entire community to find and support seniors in need, even if they don't attend church. The organization believes that seniors need to be empowered to take care of themselves and calls for better policies to make seniors feel better in society at large.

Overall, Rightcare takes a multi-skilled team approach, with a focus on the church. Their mission is to provide comprehensive services to seniors, supporting their health, thinking, and faith as they age. Rightcare works to improve the lives of seniors and their caregivers by providing education, access, and a voice.

The Problem

Creating a program like Right Care designed to provide essential services to seniors in neighborhood communities involves many challenges. An important consideration is to ensure that there are many aspects of caring for the elderly, including their physical health, emotional and spiritual needs.

Lack of Holistic Approach to Senior Care Many current programs for seniors mainly deal with their physical health, but they don't pay enough attention to their feelings and spiritual needs. Without having an appropriate strategy can leave seniors without necessary support and lead to a degeneration in their health and well-being.

Limited Support within Church Communities Seniors in the church may not receive the help and special resources they need. Regular church events and services may not solve the unique challenges seniors face.

Inadequate Emergency Preparedness for Seniors Extra help is needed by seniors in emergencies but their providers may not know the appropriate ways to support them.

Limited Awareness on Aging Challenges Seniors in the church may not receive the help and special resources they need. Regular church events and services may not solve the unique challenges seniors face.

Isolation and Vulnerability of Non-Church Seniors Seniors who do not belong to a church may feel more isolated and less protected because they lack the support and connections that churches often provide.

Limited Awareness and Education on Aging Challenges Educational initiatives are a key focus for Rightcare which uses them to increase awareness on matters related to aging. Within the church and also in society outside the church, there is an effort being put into increasing understanding of this issue through workshops, seminars, and the provision of information.

Isolation and Vulnerability of Non-Church Seniors Rightcare is turning its focus towards reaching out to vulnerable seniors who are outside the church setting. Non-church seniors’ isolation is reduced while their well-being is being improved by Rightcare’s provision of resources and aid.
